In just two short weeks, a Reddit user known as ftb_hodor has done the seemingly impossible and captured every available digital creature in Pokémon Go. However, despite capturing 142 Pokémon, the user hasn’t technically captured them all.
According to the Reddit user’s game, he walked 153km during his
Pokémon hunt. Walking nearly 96 miles to catch Pokémon is impressive
already, but the user says that he actually walked more than that. While
playing, he used a separate health app that says he walked 129.04 miles
(roughly 200km) during his travels. Whatever the case may be, it cannot
be argued that the user is in better shape now than when they first
started playing.
As for the elusive Pokémon mentioned earlier, the ones missing from
the user’s collection are: Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, Ditto,
Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo, and Mew. The last six of those are
supposedly the rarest Pokémon in the game and there is no record of them
naturally appearing anywhere in the world. The first three of those,
however, are believed to be region specific. Farfetch’d is supposedly an
Asian exclusive, Kangaskhan resides in Oceanic territories, and Mr.
Mime can be found in Western Europe.
Unless ftb_hodor plans to travel outside of the United States to
catch those region-specific Pokémon, he can take a much deserved respite
after completing such a long journey. This user is the first, but
certainly won’t be the last person to complete Pokémon Go. That
is, until Nintendo updates the mobile game with a fresh batch of new
monsters for people to collect. There are hundreds more to choose from.
Catch Pikachu as Your Starter
This first trick for Pokemon Go can be found right at the start
of the game, while picking your starter Pokemon. If you continuously
ignore and run away from Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, Pikachu
will eventually appear, ripe for the catching.
